Support from Philanthropic Organisations

The Centre has received annual support for many years from the following Trusts: The William Angliss Charitable Trust, Flora and Frank Leith Trust and the Theresa Wardell Welfare Fund.

Support for Projects

The Telstra Foundation is supporting a three year project entitled Knowledge into Action. This project aims to provide a conduit between academic research knowledge and good practice in the sector. The project assists to employ a staff member to the position of "Knowledge Broker" to implement the project.

The Scholarship Program was established through the generous ongoing financial support of Barbara Heine. It provides financial assistance to young people in or leaving care to undertake tertiary or TAFE education over several years. Recently, the program has been able to expand thanks to the generous support from the Potter Foundation that has pledged support over the next three years to fund additional scholarships.

Based on the success of this program over the last several years, the Centre is looking to develop an expanded scholarship program. The cost of education is expensive with HECS debts for a full degree costing up to $6,000 p.a. or more. There are many young people from disadvantaged backgrounds or with multiple barriers to education that would benefit from this form of assistance.

If you feel you could assist with this important and valuable cause, please contact Karen Scobell at the Centre on 9614 1577.
